A barrel of Château Miraval, signed by Brad Pitt, has broken all records, at 10,000 euros. Brad signed the barrel of Château Miraval "Pour village durable" (For sustainable village).

The auction of the white wines of Correns, in Fort Gibron, has raised nearly 25,000 euros. This will enable l'association Villages Durables (the Association of Sustainable Villages), based in Congo, to enable many agricultural development projects, including the expansion of a agro-ecological school farm.

This year's Cannes Film Festival has decided to pay homage to Marilyn Monroe who has been selected as the icon for the 2012 Cannes Film Festival this May. Marilyn Monroe died fifty years ago in Los Angeles only 36 year old. The main poster for this year's festival pays tribute to Marilyn by featuring a large black and white photo of her seductively blowing out a candle in front of the large letters "Cannes 65" in a period type face.

For the first time, the Monte Carlo Country Club (Riviera League) was selected by the Federal Bureau of the French Tennis Federation to host the quarter final Davis Cup between France and the United States on 6th, 7th and 8th April.

The World Famous, Record-Breaking, 1953 Ferrari-Powered Hydroplane, "ARNO XI", is up for auction in Monaco this May.

The ARNO XI combined the designing expertise of Achille Castoldi, ho wanted to break a world water speed record, and the engineering genius of Enzo Ferrari to create this piece of automotive genius. Although desinged and built between 1952 and 1953, it looks like something from the future. It uses the same 12-cylinder, 4,500cc, V12 Ferrari engine used in the Type 375 Grand Prix car.

Work will begin later this year on a new transport hub for Nice to be completed in 2015.

Gares & Connexions, the SNCF's new business unit is working in partnership with the Nice local authorities to provide a living and service area in Nice town centre and turn the future Nice-Thiers railway station into a large hub connecting several different modes of transport. The station is to be renovated with environmentally responsible architecture, offering new services and a high level of comfort to the residents of Nice and passengers using the Côte d'Azur railway.
