Tiny streets wind forever between the 17th and 18th century building, up and down ancient steps, passing through arched tunnels that often open onto large squares.

Gourdon and Cabris in the afternoon
At 2,500 feet above sea level, Gourdon has spectacular views to Nice, Antibes and the coast. Glass ware, linen, perfume, and olive oil shops. Cabris is at an altitude that makes it much cooler than Cannes.

3   Tourrettes sur Loup in the morning
Mediaeval village, lots of old shops selling pottery, woodwork, jewellery, linens, art, glassware, arts and crafts. Lunch in one of the cafés around the square. Great views to the coast. Called the "Violet village" because, for over a century this shy pretty flower has been grown in the village. Even today it's one of the main activities in the village.

Vence in the afternoon
A large town with beautiful old citadel in the centre that is full of shops, restaurants, bars, cafés and art galleries. Cobbled streets, with no traffic allowed.
