Monaco

Monaco, a self governing principality, has long been a playground of the rich and famous, due to no income tax, world-class casinos, and its harbour. The setting for the James Bond film and novel, Casino-Royal.

Monaco is divided into four traditional quarters:

Monaco, the old city known as, le Rocher, or the rock of Monaco
Monte Carlo, to the north east of Port Hercule. The main residential area where the world famous casino is located
La Condamine, north of the old city of Monaco including the Port Hercule area
Fonvieille, a newly constructed area to the south of the old city and reclaimed from the sea during the 1970s

Tip: Beausoleil is within walking distance of Monte Carlo and the prices are a fraction of those in Monaco!
