
Monaco
Monaco, a self governing principality, has long been a playground of the rich and famous, due to no income tax, world-class casinos, and its harbour. The setting for the James Bond film and novel, Casino-Royal.Monaco is divided into four traditional quarters:
- Monaco, the old city known as, le Rocher, or the rock of Monaco
- Monte Carlo, to the north east of Port Hercule. The main residential area where the world famous casino is located
- La Condamine, north of the old city of Monaco including the Port Hercule area
- Fonvieille, a newly constructed area to the south of the old city and reclaimed from the sea during the 1970s
