View map of Port Carras

Carras was a fishing village, offset to the west of Nice, the last before the French border until 1860. Its harbor is still there and some fishermen to carry on a centuries-old activity.

The painter Felix Ziem lived in this area from 1842 and Queen Victoria liked to walk around port Carra during her many stays. Entrusted to the city of Nice as a mere concession to dyking, this small port infrastructure is now managed in-house by the port network of Nice Côte d'Azur.

The few morings and a ramp launch are at present mainly used by local fishermen and in summer by the youth recreation centre.

The location of the port of Carras, at the end of the Promenade des Anglais and right next to the Nice international airport, has long given rise to many thoughts for the development of port activities. But also taking into account the presence of the adjoining beach, a channel dedicated to the activities of jet skiing and parasailing, sports fields and the relative lack of nautical bases on the perimeter of the Baie des Anges. All of thse things will be necessary to consider for a proposal of development for the small port of Carras.
